Enjoying Nature

We are within a short drive of world renowned Algonquin Park. Algonquin has no “down” season. It is accessible throughout the year and every season is beautiful. While in Algonquin you may hike, canoe, birdwatch or go on Wolf Howls with Park staff. It is an experience to remember.

Just up the road from Secluded Trails is the Aspen Valley Conservation Reserve where you may observe wildlife from a close but safe distance – and watch the rehabilitation work that goes on.

The Echo Valley Observatory (at the Delta Grandview Resort) lets you experience the galaxy first hand from a powerful telescope, while Arrowhead Provincial Park and the Haliburton Forest Reserve offer even more opportunities to appreciate nature.

Santa’s Village is another favourite destination that appeals to the kid in all of us. Visit Santa’s deer, see the animals in Santa’s farm, run through the Splashzone just for kids, and visit Santa in his summer home.

For those who like to shop, there are many options available – Huntsville, Bracebridge and the surrounding area offer interesting and exciting shopping – antiques, art and crafts are a staple of the Muskoka region. In the Autumn you may stay at Secluded Trails while you enjoy the annual tour of artists galleries and workshops.

The local markets and shops are very appealing. Many of the communities of Muskoka have a weekly farmers market where you can buy fresh Muskoka produce or Muskoka Crafts. In Huntsville the market is held every Thursday morning.
